OUR FIRST CAMPAIGN
During our first campaign, 2.5% of all orders placed on the Halal Hemp marketplace will benefit Malaysian Islamic singer, Yasin Sulaiman, his legal fees, and his fight for freedom after being charged with possession of cannabis plants and dry herb. Yasin Sulaiman faces a life imprisonment sentence after being charged of cultivating cannabis in Kota Damansara, which he used to self-medicate and manage mental health symptoms.
SOCIAL IMPACT
At Halal Hemp, we believe that CBD consumption should feel safe and welcoming for all. Years of prohibition throughout the world has caused CBD and hemp to carry and unjust stigma. It’s also caused a baseless fear and general mistrust of the same plant medicine that our Eastern ancestors relied on for centuries.
As the world slowly comes around to the benefits of plant medicine that our ancestors discovered ages ago, we can’t help but feel responsible for helping release the non-violent prisoners who were wrongfully incarcerated for self-medicating with cannabis throughout the War on Drugs.
The Islamic tradition of Zakat, where Muslims donate 2.5% of their total earnings to charity, inspired Halal Hemp’s signature social impact campaign. Halal Hemp donates 2.5% of earnings on every marketplace purchase towards a worthy cause: a fight for freedom.
Your contributions make all the difference.
